In the next step, our bronze oil burners are finished piece by piece with a patina by hand. This involves repeated heating over an open flame and repeated treatment. This process gives the bronze this noble brownish appearance. In the last step, the fragrance bowl is treated with natural wax to avoid annoying fingerprints when handling. At the end of this process there are individual pieces: 1.1 kilograms in weight, cast by hand and refined with love. This all happens in our beautiful Styria.
In the casting process, bronze ingots are heated in a special furnace. At a melting point of around 1,100°C, the bronze liquefies and becomes a lava-like luminous liquid. The liquid bronze is poured into the prepared molds by hand using a trowel. A mold is prepared for each of our Bronze Oil Burners - this makes each fragrance bowl a bit different and therefore unique. The bronze hardens in the molds and forms into the boat-like shape of our Bronze Oil Burner.
